Exploring the Extended Universe of Rob Liefeld — The Liefeld-verse
WI – War of the Independents (2010)
There is only one Liefeld-verse cameo I can find in the “War of the Independents” crossover. But to be sure I tracked-down every book tied to the crossover.
Because I could not find one, I have put together a “War of the Independents” reading order. I hope someone finds it helpful.
Books in RED TEXT are not directly part of “War of the Independents” but are included for context.

Following last issue’s cliffhanger, The Sire is lost in time courtesy of Mariano Nicieza’s PHAZER! Tying into the War of the Independents crossover event, The Sire and Phazer must battle through prehistoric baddies, the Mongols and their mistrust of each other in order to make it home in piece.
editor’s note near end of book reads: *The Sire and Phazer’s journey continues in the pages of War of the Independents (from Red Anvil), Phazer (from Apex Comics Publishing Group) and Critter (from Big Dog Ink!)
The mention of “Critter (from Big Dog Ink!)” references The Sire’s cameo appearance in Critter #3 (2011) [Big Dog Ink!] 09/2011

The final page of the issue is a crossover between “The Living Corpse” and Sean N. Koury’s “Bounty Hunter”.
This is the first appearance of Bounty Hunter. The character is meant to headline Bounty Hunter #0, a War of the Independents tie-in, which has yet to be published (see “Notes” below).
Comic “VO” text and Editor’s note: “I ran into The Corpse almost immediately. I’d met him before briefly, during that ruckus with Orcus.*” “Editor’s Note: *See War of the Independents. When it comes out. Which it will. Eventually.”
Phazer (2011) #5 [RZG Comics] 2012
internal crossover with Agent Three-Zero and others
Phazer (2011) #6 [RZG Comics] 2012

internal crossover with Agent Three-Zero and others
appears to bring this portion of Phazer’s crossover stories to an end
Notes:
Creator of War of the Independents, David Ryan, suggested on Twitter that this list is missing a few issues. After tracking them down I will add them into the list above. Here are the remaining books, according to Mr. Ryan:
2007 SDCC pin up book
only 50 made for SDCC
Trailer Park of Terror
I have also seen the following listed as a War of the Independents tie-in, but I can find no proof it was printed.
PERSONAL NOTE: I wonder if the delay in publishing is related to the publishing rights for Warrior Nun Areala. As I understand it, the comic book rights were picked up by Avatar Press and they may not authorize this.
