What books qualify for the Liefeld-verse Reading Order?

  1. All of Rob Liefeld’s creator-owned works.
  2. All appearances and cameos of Liefeld’s creator-owned characters.
  3. All titles released under one of Rob Liefeld’s mastheads.
    • Titles that start their run being published by a Liefeld company will have their entire run included.
  4. Image Comics started-out as a shared superhero universe and existed this way until the split with Extreme Studios. In mapping this universe the “tent pole” titles of each Image studio, through Shattered Image (1996), should be included.

  5. ShadowHawk books continue to reference Liefeld-verse characters after Shattered Image. For this reason, other ShadowHawk titles and appearances have been included.
  6. Alan Moore: Moore’s 1963 referenced Shaft (from Youngblood). Moore also wrote some Badrock/Violator/Spawn/WildC.A.T.s/Youngblood/Supreme. All Moore work for the shared Image Universe is included.
  7. Overt-Kill: A co-creation of Rob Liefeld and Todd McFarland. Both creators use the character. All appearances are included.
  8. Deathblow: Deathblow first appears in Darker Image (1993) #1. Deathblow crosses over with the other Homage/Wildstorm titles. Deathblow ends after the Fire from Heaven event that marks the end of this Wildstorm Universe entering into Shattered Image (1996). I am including the entire Deathblow series: Deathblow (1993) #1-29.
  9. Pitt: The character of Pitt was introduced early in the Image Universe starting in Youngblood (1992) #4. The Image creators of the time were very excited by Pitt and many supported the title with appearances in their titles. Pitt appearances through the founding of Full Bleed Studios (issue #9) have been included.
