Released in early September 2024, ‘Slaughter Otter (2024)’ #1 (Written by Matt Fife with Art by Matt Rodgers) was released with a “Spot Foil Cover” variant (Cover D) by Matt Rodgers that is an homage to ‘Youngblood (1992)’ #7. [Matt Rodgers signed the cover “After Liefeld”. Liefeld’s cover was, in turn, an homage to the cover of ‘The Thing (1983)’ #6.] The book has been added to the Homage Covers page.
Another pair of covers looked to me like they might also be homages to ‘Prophet (1993)’ #1.
I asked Matt Rodgers on Twitter/X about this possible Prophet #1 homage. He said it was a “happy accident!”
